Career Changed

In our resolve to strive for the peak health, potential, and integrity in the future for the Coton de Tulear breed, many and most dogs will career-change from their path of becoming breeding dogs. Despite a huge investment of time, commitment, heart and soul, this is a necessary part of strengthening the future. These dogs are still deeply loved, and will always represent our breed and family. ♥

Ultimately, many more dogs will be non-breeding dogs than breeding dogs. Every dog for every purpose is a prospect, not a “future stud” or “future mom”. No matter the level of investment, no matter where they were from, no matter how many titles we’ve earned, no matter how brilliant their parents were, and no matter how much we love them, it is impossible to predict the future of a dog’s development.  A career change is possible at any age up to the time that a dog is an evaluated mature adult. The long term stability of the breed depends on the objective decisions made now.   

I will always be proud of every single one of them, although their impact on the breed may be different than originally intended.
